Q:

Why Daemon-Tools and DaemonUI?

A:

Reasons for Daemon-Tools
- You don't need to take the original-CDs when you like to play some games when you're on the way.
- The (own) children cannot destroy the CDs
- Even unperfect copies (images) with securom/safedisk/laerlok can be used (even CloneCD works not everywhere)
- If you need a lot of CDs alternating, you save the money for a 2nd, 3rd, .. CDROM
- You are able to use images over a network in most cases.
- Improved speed
- With multi operating system environments you don't have to install some CD's completely
On Win98, WinNT, Win2000 -> 3*(3 CDs) á 650 MB results in a very nice space saving with a basic installation of 300 MB insteas of approx. 1800 MB.

Reasons for DaemonUI:
- Easy to mount and unmount
- You can write scripts that perform special tasks like:
   * Execute programs before and after mounting images
   * Change screen resolution (required for some games)
   * Simultaneous mounting of multiple images on multiple devices (up to 4)
   * You can enable and disable emulations as needed.

Q:

Whats the reason for Message "DAEMON.DLL not found!" when DaemonUI starts.

A:

There are a few possible reasons for this:

1. The Daemon-Tools-Software (2.41 or newer) is not installed
-> Install Daemon-Tools-Software (get it)
2. The Daemon.DLL is locked (e.g. by daemon.exe)
-> You have to disable the LockDll and AutoLock option of daemon.exe (daemon-tools-icon in system tray).
3. You are using DaemonTools 4.00 or newer with DaemonUI (older than 2.0) which doesn't support the new DaemonTools version (not yet).
4. On Vista: Automatic detection of DaemonTools (DT) installation doesn't work. Use "Select DaemonTools directory" from the
Main or Tray context menu to search for it.
It's located in the DT installation folder (nowadays program files\DAEMON Tools Lite\daemon.dll).

Then DaemonUI should be runnable. (Then use the LockDll/AutoLock option of DaemonUI/Settings)

Q:

NERO's .NRG Format is not displayed in Image List selector.

A:

Because of License restrictions by NERO, older Daemon-Tools version are only allowed to support the .nrg format if the Nero IMAGEDRIVE is installed.
Newer versions of Daemon-Tools support this format directly.

Q:

My Scripts generated by version DaemonUI 1.70 don't work (error 1001 is displayed)

A:

There is a bug when saving a script from the script generator: newlines (CR LF ) are always saved as (CR CR LF).
Workaround: open the script in notepad remove and readd all newlines and overwrite the existing file.
(for each line: goto the end, press delete, press return
goto the end of the last line, press delete at least two times)
